I’m Kevin Kyaw, a photographer and classical musician based in New York.

For the past eight years, I’ve focused on portrait photography—mostly working with musicians. I love capturing quiet, honest moments that reflect who people really are.

I studied photography with Rebecca Foley at Missouri Western State University. I’m now the Photography TA at Stony Brook University, where I document concerts and support the department through creative work.

I’ve also had the privilege of being the official photographer for the soundSCAPE Festival and the Maccagno Piano Days Festival, both in Italy.

Most of my recent work in the U.S. has been with my school and music department—small, non-commercial projects that let me collaborate with other artists and build my portfolio.

My style leans toward storytelling with a cinematic touch. I’m drawn to moments that feel intentional but not staged—like frames from a film. Whether I’m working with natural light or shadows, I try to create images that carry a sense of mood, place, and quiet emotion.

If you’re working on something and think we’d be a good match, feel free to reach out. I’m always open to making something meaningful together.
